Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM)
(Equivalent to MBA - Accredited by AIU)
PGDM is the flagship course provided by Ishan Institute of Management & Technology. The course is designed to develop the students as professional managers with the strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of tomorrow, while giving them the vision to determine what the future will be.
This program is a two year, full time, residential program. The first year students are exposed to basic concept in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Personnel Management and Human Resources Management, Quantitative methods, Operations and Behavioral Sciences through the 'core courses'. These lay the foundation for all the functional areas of Management help develop problem solving skills. This is further followed with the practical exposure that the students get from the Summer Internship Programme in the corporate sector.
In the second year, students specialize in functional areas of their interest. Students can go for a Dual Specialization or Major and Minor. There is greater emphasis on the application of knowledge gained in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions, periodic evaluations and demanding academic schedules which finally differentiates the manager of IIMT with the rest ones.
In today’s world, management is one of the few highest paid careers. After doing a course in the field of management, you can start own business or can aspire to work at managerial and executive levels in corporate houses and multinational companies, in the major fields of management, as operation managers, event managers, HR managers and marketing managers. Above all, a management degree is not only confined to corporate houses, but also it can get you a better chance in the government sector too.
Student can persue Higher education / Research eg. Ph.D. after this course.
Duration
PGDM is a two-year full-time residential programme.
Eligibility
Minimum 3 years of Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized University in India or abroad.
Specialisations available for the Business Management Students :
The students shall have the option to opt for any of the following specialisations in their second year (i.e. for the 3rd and 4th semester) :
a. Marketing
b. Finance
c. Human Resource
d. International Business
e. Petroleum and Energy Management
f. Infrastructural Management
The subhects shall be taught according to the specialisation chosen by the student.
