The Financial Sector in India has seen substantial changes over the past decade. India is moving rapidly towards capital account convertibility. Companies and individuals acess to funds have changed dramatically. Domestic (and to a limited extent, foreign) capital markets are now relatively freely accessible. Increased availability and use of derivatives allow fine-turning of terms of financing. The financial markets have become much more transparent and efficient. The regulation and financial intermediaries are changing. Regulations now focus on risks and managementof risks return than on producers. This course has been designed to prepare professional challenging assignment in the financial services industry. The first two semesters are designed to provide the basics of the finance function along with the other functional areas of management, followed by two months summer training in industries/ business organization. Highly advance inputs of finance are giving to the students through different assignments like share market trading, financial debate, onsite training in financial institutions different areas of finance.
Each student is required to compulsorily undertake Summer Training in a company of repute for a duration of 8 weeks, as a part of the course curriculum, immediately after the second semester examination. It provides an opportunity to the students to have first hand practical exposure and helps relate the conceptual and analytical skills acquired in the class room to actual management practices. A student will be promoted in second year only after completion of Summer Training and submitting Satisfactory Summer Project within prescribed time.
